If you are into woodworking or arts and crafts this tool will serve you well.
Not Your Typical Table Saw
The Rockwell BladeRunner is not your typical table saw as it doesn’t use a circular blade. Instead, the saw blade is similar to a standard scroll saw or jigsaw. This gives greater scope for intricate jigsaw-like cuts as well as being capable of doing straight crosscuts and rip saw cuts of timber up to 1 – 1/2 inches. Ideal for just about every DIY project you may have on the go, this saw can be set up to cut any material in seconds. Cut wood, plastic, aluminum, metal and tiles easily by just changing the blade.

Nifty Design
The Rockwell BladeRunner X2 Portable Tabletop Saw is a corded-electric tabletop saw that weighs between 15-17 pounds. It’s designed to be as stable as possible in order to ensure that your cuts are as smooth as possible. It’s more than functional for DIY use and aesthetically pleasing from our own humble opinion.
Some say it looks like an oversized stamp or maybe perhaps a spaceship. What we mean is that it has a firm, sturdy base that doesn’t wobble or flip over on its legs because the legs are low and flat on the ground, thus making it as balanced and immovable as an anvil.

Can the Rockwell BladeRunner Cut 4 x 2
This little saw doesn’t have the capacity for heavy lumber cuts much over 2 inches, especially doing long rip saw work over 1-inch. For work such as this you need to substitute with a heavy-duty table saw, or, depending on the type of job a miter saw such as the Hitachi C10FCE2 may be a better choice. Nevertheless, the Rockwell Bladerunner x2 does have a place in the home workshop with its capability to cut more than just timber.
Rockwell BladeRunner VS Table Saws
The Bladerunner X2 is the ultimate lightweight portable table saw that can be handled by virtually anyone. It is very easy to fold it up and move it to another room in the house or to store it in the back of your car or truck. Heavy-duty table saws such as the Makita table saw are a different breed of saw. This type of saw is generally a permanent fixture in the workshop and are for more serious construction projects.

Our Conclusion
The Rockwell Bladerunner tabletop saw doesn’t have any links to the Blade Runner film other than the name in terms of design (like it having LED lights in inappropriate places), it does at least have enough quality in it to make it more than just a film reference. It has limits on what it can cut in terms of material, grade, and thickness, but it’s pretty powerful for something portable and is the size of a laptop with a heavy base.
Although portable, the things that the Rockwell BladeRunner X2 can cut are surprising. This is not a substitute for your miter saw and will never rip down a large plank. But for smaller jobs like flooring, tiles, and general woodworking its an ideal addition to the workshop. And, if you are only into small hobby projects with a modest space to work in this little saw would be ideal.
